The state makes solid arguments in moving to dismiss the Amendment 1 lawsuit (George v. Haslam). Primary arguments are the following:

  1. The plaintiffs lack standing to sue.
  2. It’s a state issue, not a federal one.
  3. Their argument is itself an unconstitutional infringement of the right to vote by conditioning right to vote on having to vote in governor’s race.
