What is a Level Playing Field? (October 17, 2012)
In the vice presidential debate last week, one of the candidates said he has fought for years to level the playing field, holding everyone to the same responsibility.
But too often government fails to do this, and instead it shields individuals and businesses from the consequences of their actions by taking from the responsible and giving to the irresponsible.
That is not justice. That is injustice.
Hard times can befall anyone, and we want to help those in need. At the same time, we all want to see justice done.
Government, no matter which political party is in charge, must stop taking from those it disfavors and giving to those it favors, only then will we have a truly level playing field.
