A Government of Limited Powers? (November 21, 2012)
As Washington stands on the edge of the fiscal cliff with no long term solutions in sight, the only power sufficient to curb the federal government may be the states exerting their constitutional sovereignty.
The next big test will be whether states like Tennessee go forward with setting up the health insurance exchanges called for under the patient protection and affordable care act
But the law suffered another setback just this last week when tyndale house publishers won a victory in federal court exempting them from the abortion pill mandate contained in the law. Other groups have vowed to continue to resist this assault on religious liberty
Time will tell.
The next six months may give us an idea whether Obamacare continues or collapses under the weight of lawsuits and resistance from non-cooperative states.
