Education or Intimidation in Coffee County (June 12, 2013)
The recent forum in Coffee County, Tennessee hosted by Muslims to educate citizens about their constitutional and civil rights created a firestorm.
The impetus for the forum was the posting on facebook of an unfunny political cartoon about Islam by a local elected official. But the forum did not achieve its stated objective when the speakers were a U.S. Attorney and an FBI agent, even though no crime had been committed.
There being no crime, a wise host would not have invited the prosecutorial arm of the federal government in view of growing distrust in federal government cause by scandals involving the U.S. Attorney’s office and the IRS.
It certainly left many wondering if the real purpose was to intimate into silence those who are concerned about the conflict between Sharia law and the Constitution.
