Marriage Pays (August 1, 2012)
A recent newspaper story observed that marriage pays, that is marriage between a man and a woman results in much greater economic prosperity for the family. But this conclusion didn’t come from some conservative think tank, but from a report in the liberal New York Times.
You see, no matter your political ideology, it is evident that people who get married and stay married do better financially. And their children do better, as well. Even children born to poor parents are more likely to move into higher income brackets if both parents are in the home.
While liberals work to make marriage obsolete and out-of-wedlock childbearing normalized, in the end the dollar figures are undeniable.
You see, money talks, even when it comes to the benefits of marriage. Hopefully liberals will start listening.
